MMA & FACAW Welders
Immediate start - 6 month contact
You will be required to test to a Lloyds standard, over head butt and over head fillet, a vertical butt and vertical fillet in both the MMA process and FCAW process.
On successful completion of test you will be required to:
*Undertake the structural alterations or build modules by following engineering drawings on naval surface ships
*Read drawings, interpret work instructions and perform the work to time, cost and quality.
*Ability to align, prepare the weld joint and then weld structural seam to a specified weld procedure. The thickness of the materials is typically 8mm-12mm.
*Ability to use basic gouge and edge preparation through grinding.
*Ability to use basic hand tools, guillotines, and band saws.
*Weld processes which are used in Babcock on MMA, MIG Flux-core and occasionally TIG in mainly carbon steel and stainless. They tested at either Lloyds or EN287.
* Cleaning up of own work arising.
*Slinging duties as required.
*Any other task within the individual's competence as directed by the company.
