MIG/MAG Welders preferably with previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment are required for an initial 3 month contract with our client's Lydney site assembly operations.
Applications are invited from skilled individuals who have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship in Welding & Fabrication using MIG/MAG or time served in a Welding & Fabrication role and who live local to Gloucester. A welding test will form part of the interview process.
Candidates will be competent in MIG/MAG welding various gauge mild steel ranging from 1.5 mm to 15mm thick in various weld positions with the ability to interpret engineering drawings ]
You will work within a small team therefore you will be self-motivated, have a willingness to learn and be flexible in the tasks that you undertake in order to support the needs of the business. Attention to detail is key as you will be required to work to high customer, quality and regulatory standards, often to tight deadlines.
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
Ensure parts are produced on a 'right first time' basis
Responsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Team Leader
Responsible for general housekeeping within the area
Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30 to 4.30 and Friday 7.30 am to 1.30 pm but please note that due to Covid the site is currently working staggered shifts which may mean earlier start or finish times.
Shift working (including nightshift) may be neccessary and overtime may be available, shifts and hours over 40 will be paid at an enhanced rate.
Candidates who have not served a recognised engineering apprenticeship in Welding & Fabrication using MIG/MAG or time served in a Welding & Fabrication role will not be considered.
