Job Description Our Client has an opportunity for a RF/Microwave Design Verification Engineer to work within their AESA Core Delivery Team (CDT), to carry out and support development Module and MMIC device RF test at various levels of assembly wafer, ceramic mount, plastic component and module assembly level. You will work within the AESA CDT alongside MMIC and RF Assembly design team, delivering design solutions for RF TRM/C and PCA assemblies into key AESA Radar programmes. Skills, qualifications & knowledge The successful Candidate should be degree qualified in Electronic Engineering (preferable) or related science (e.g. Physics) with specialism in RF Microwave electronic circuits. The successful Candidate must also have experience in the: * manufacture and test of RF hybrid modules * test and measurement of RF devices across a range of RF parameters, in a development and verification environment The successful Candidate should have current practical experience in one or more of the following areas: * Wafer test system use and procedures (generally this involves specialist skills using delicate probe test gear and specific RF test knowledge). * Knowledge of specific Agilent T/E (PNA-X) and/or R&S (ZVA) equipment * Multi-port Microwave Test including knowledge of advanced calibration and de-embedding techniques. * Familiarity with RF data processing tools and techniques including knowledge of statistical data processing using Matlab, Excel, CITI files * Experience in presenting data from RF module and device test * Knowledge of control of T/E using LabView, LabWindows CVI, TestStand * Knowledge and experience in Data management and Configuration Control * Knowledge and experience in Engineering Drawing definition and control * Experience in test equipment maintenance and support * Analysis of system level documents, requirement specifications and specification of detailed hardware requirements * S-parameter manipulation. * EM simulation. * Microwave component selection * Microwave PCB Design & Test * Microwave Hybrid Component Design & Test * Microwave System Design (VSS or System Vue) * Microwave High Efficiency Power Amplifier Design & Test * Technical support to sub-contracts and engineering interface with manufacturing. * Broad experience of the majority of the lifecycle phases. * Broad knowledge of tools and processes, used in the design, development and delivery of products. The successful Candidate should be familiar with current industry standard ECAD tools. It is desirable that the candidate has expert knowledge in AWR Microwave office, CST Microwave studio, Agilent ADS, or AWR Visual System Simulator.
Duties will include: * Development plastic QFN packaging component and TRM evaluation (on PCB) * Development Testing of Plastic TRM Evaluation boards with additional fault finding * RF on Wafer test for a variety of development RF MMIC devices (Power Amplifiers, LNA, Core Chip, Switches, FETs for example) * Implementation and operation of Development Test Solutions using COTS and STTE test equipment for design and development verification activities * Support to Test Solution development for Production Test Systems for Common TRM / TRC products * Support to current and future Production Test sets. * Data Analysis and presentation of results from test activities * Review and analyses of results against requirements * Contribute to and support supplier test activities (GaAs, SiGe semiconductor suppliers) * Yield improvement initiatives which lead to a stable and yielding product * Contribute to Test time reduction initiatives * Support to new product introduction and in particular set up and verification of robust test solutions for volume products. * Interface to Leonardo MW technical and management team on a regular basis. * Fault analysis and Root Cause Investigations * Report directly into the AESA CDT Test and design teams * Cooperate with the AESA CDT test and design teams * Provide technical support to other team members where required * Control test data configuration * Participate in work technical reviews where applicable
