Metallic Structures Supervisor
Permanent role

The post holder will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities in the Metallic Structures and Supersonic Fuel Tank (SFT) bay and be able to demonstrating the ability to derive diagnostic techniques.
The post holder will also be responsible for, maintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisation on metallic structures and the SFT, meeting agreed delivery targets at a tactical level, be a competent at people management and leadership skills, have awareness of broader external dependencies and be able to identify areas for continuous improvement
Undertake detailed maintenance, inspection activities on the Aircraft Metallic Structures and Fuel components. Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the SOW/Work package using the relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of configuration management
Undertake and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on the Aircraft Metallic Structures and Fuel components which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test
Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately.
Maintain personal & teams task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with current requirements
Undertake support tasks within the Metallic Structures Bay and SFT Bay facilities which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures (e.g. control of tooling/test equipment etc.)
Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for 'found faults' during maintenance
Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering, or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge/competency within own technical/subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application
Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.
