Mechanical Technician (B3T)

£23,938 + Overtime + Package


Working on the Hawk.TMk1 within a depth maintenance environment at the RAF base in Anglesey. The Mechanical Technician will be required to carry out airframe and/or propulsion maintenance tasks to a high standard whilst ensuring compliance and airworthiness adherence. The post holder will require a good understanding of the construct of the approved data set and competent to work to maintenance instructions. Reporting to the Team Leader the successful applicant is expected to promote good practices in quality and safety management in an aviation environment.

Main Tasks

The main tasks could include but not limited to:

  • Carrying out 1st signature responsibilities.
  • Ensuring that tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner, on time and to the highest standard.
  • Working effectively within a team.
  • Carrying out additional duties as delegated by the Team Leader.
  • Ensuring Company health, safety and environmental procedures are always implemented and complied with

Technical Experience and Qualifications

  • 2 years relative aviation experience
  • Mechanical Systems Type course
  • Training in an Aircraft related discipline to :-

City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent (NVQ Level 3)

  • Computer literate

Skills Profile

  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and Standards
  • Knowledge of Quality (QMS), Safety (SMS) and Environmental Management Systems
  • Knowledge of MOD policy documentation and organisation
  • Knowledge of Part-M, Part-145 and any other relevant regulations
  • Understanding of professional integrity, behaviour and attitude towards safety
  • Understanding critical task
  • Ability to promote the safety and quality policy
  • Ability to use information systems
  • Adequate communication and literacy skills
