Morson International require an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer, available for one of clients a major supplier & maintainer of tramways & main line trains.
Purpose of role:
To provide product knowledge and support to operations and the customer on mechanical systems. The mechanical systems engineer will have personal responsibility for the performance of a number of systems in order to maintain and improve the safety, reliability and availability of the rolling stock and trackside equipment.
Responsibilities:
- To manage closure logged technical issues associated with systems and equipment
- To establish, with the co-operation of suppliers, customers and other functions, the root causes of failures of systems and equipment
- To undertake technical investigations into safety related incidents ensuring that all necessary mitigation's are put in place pending final resolution
- To develop, validate and implement product enhancements that improve the reliability, availability and safety of their systems and equipment
- To produce clear and concise technical documentation in the form of specifications, test procedures, modification instructions, maintenance and safety instructions and technical reports
- To be responsible for and control the technical documentation associated with systems and equipment in conformance with Company processes, procedures and systems
Essential for the position:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of and ability to work to relevant specifications and standards
- Ability to understand and produce clear technical documentation
- Proficient in the use of MS Office software
