The roles are to be performed under the direction of the Sellafield Mechanical Lead For the TEC & Project.
Mechanical Engineer with the capabilities of leading a team and producing and undertaking / contributing towards the following tasks:
Close out design work associated with TEC DCPs, (modification of drawings, OIMS and schedules as required).
Contribute to existing system life assessments (vapour duct patch plate condition assessment).
Undertake plant surveys and interpreting plant survey data. Review of surveys and assessment of as-built configuration against current design packages.
Production of inspection requirements document for the vapour duct change over work (support to construction and commissioning).
Review and provide comments on the construction schedule and assembly sequence for in cell pipe installation (purge plan review).
Support construction in WP2 and WP3&5 construction trials. Review trial output. (Raise any DCPs as a result of trials and close out where appropriate).
Complete WP1 Shielding design.
Support cell cooling design along with ventilation engineer.
Review and maintain drawing and engineering query register.
Review project handover checklist for commissioning.
Produce critical spares list.
Review and close out engineering queries from OSW.
Review and close out TQ, PP concessions, FOB.
Provide design support to as-built drawings post construction and post commissioning.
Contributing to Design Reviews where applicable.
Liaising with SL Risley based Capability Departments and site based System Engineers.
Production of Technical Note for Records.
Reporting against schedule and cost to the SL Mechanical lead.
Checking of Mechanical design deliverables (drawings/documents) associated to the tasks to an appropriate level.
Estimate packs for all of the above in line with procurement strategy.
Qualifications and Comments
Working knowledge of Sellafield engineering standards ES053912, ES053932.
Working knowledge of PED and PSSR.
Wet Process experience SL SQEP Level 2 (Undertake simple wet process tasks with autonomy and some supervision for complex tasks).
Experience of design delivery in a highly regulated industry with Wet Process experience.
Experience of design delivery using SL Management System.
Familiarity with Cimage, registration of drawings and SL procedures and processes (SLMS)
Qualified (SQEP SL training to D03770 Check &
Approve Work) to check drawings & technical documents
Classified/monitored worker (preferable)
P1 / P4 pass holder
Experience in pipework, piping systems, and Pressure Vessels.
Wet Process experience SL SQEP Level 3
