We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our our client based in Cumbria. Please see details below for more information

Job Description / Role
The requirement is for full time support to the Mechanical Design Team to help define and deliver the identified scope. Day to day activities will include:
*Work alongside the Mechanical Design Lead to develop engineering concepts
*Work within a small team developing design concepts and translate into working design documents in accordance with British Standard and client specifications
*Prepare technical reports
*Supervision of designers, and allocation of work to achieve project requirements
*Planning and delivery of work packages within a defined scope
*Prepare and present technical solutions to technical peers
*Present technical solutions at design reviews
*Undertake checking and correction of the work of others
*Liaise with other engineering disciplines
*Liaise with partnering and client organisations
*Prepare for and attend HAZOPS as required
*Mechanical handling and cell design experience

Essential Experience
*Minimum HND (degree preferred)
*In-Cell/Nuclear Containment Design Experience
*Mechanical Handling Design Experience
*Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in the Nuclear Industry
*Knowledge and experience of the SL design process
*Knowledge and experience of SL standards
*Working knowledge of 'Designer Role' CDM regulatory requirements
*Awareness of safety requirements and appropriate standards and specifications

Preferred experience
*Work / Worked on similar Projects on Sellafield site.

Security Clearance
The position is subject to the ability of the candidate to obtain as a minimum baseline personnel security standard clearance and obtain a Sellafield P4 pass. Current possession of a P4 Sellafield pass and security 'SC' Level would be ideal.

Design Tools / Software
MS Office suite of programmes including Visio, SL network/IT access.
