Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, reporting to the Commissioning Team Leader, functions as part of a multi disciplined team for the purpose of carrying out testing and validation activities.

Duties include

Collaborate with the design teams and ensure the commissioning team has access to a complete set of up to date design documentation.

Acting as Intelligent Customer to the supplier EPCC package in support of the CTL

Review design documentation (Drawings, SI and DDs etc) to check there is no commissionability issues. (Commissionability being defined as (a) having a complete design configuration and a modular design that allows phased demonstration of design intent (b) more conventional access/egress and permit issues on site)

Review and confirm the Plant Test Schedule with the Area CTL for systems to ensure it is a true representation of the on site testing scope

Review the Commissioning programme/estimate with the Area CTL to confirm logic and duration

Review vendor FAT test documentation and if necessary assist during the writing of such documentation

Attend FAT and CAT testing and if necessary (Vendor works)

Review, accept and if necessary write Inactive Plant Commissioning test documentation for use at site

Witness Inactive Plant Commissioning tests on site and review test documentation

Co-operate with other lead engineers during the commissioning phase. Showing leadership in a small team of engineers and technicians on a day to day basis during the testing period in the grout plant, North Annexe area and interface to the waste treatment cell equipment

Prepare completed test results information. If necessary, attend Commissioning Sub Committee meetings to support CTL

Write Inactive Safety Commissioning documentation and execute Inactive Safety Commissioning Tests


Candidate must have experience in

Nuclear Mechanical systems commissioning
Minimum HNC or HND in Engineering related subject
10 years minimum nuclear commissioning
Project management knowledge, preferably APM member
Calculation production using Excel
