Purpose of role:

This is a multi-skilled Engineer, tasked to undertake specialised commissioning activities on FFF systems, ensuring successful delivery to agreed performance targets. These tasks will require a mix of skills and knowledge in the FFF commissioning field including Gas, Chemical, Water and Foam installations with the objective of total customer satisfaction.

Key Technical Skills:

Experience in technical leadership of FFF system commissioning/engineering activities.

Forward thinking to plan a variety of tasks

Technical authority in FFF commissioning activity.

Able to assess the health and safety implications of the commissioning activates

Conduct integrity testing of Inergen protected compartments and fully interrogate the results.

Company/Industry Knowledge:

The engineer should have an extensive commissioning background in FFF systems and be familiar with the requirements to commission the variety of systems currently being utilised within the FFF spectrum. This could be gained through service at sea in a military or commercial application with relevant engineering certification


HNC/HND qualified

Tasks and Activities:

Plan, control and deliver FFF commissioning activities on Gas, Chemical, Water and Foam systems, and make an input as required to cross-functional delivery of systems, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan/budget.

Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and develop and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a team.

Participate fully in developing, maintaining and modifying commissioning processes and procedures in the FFF areas of responsibilities. Remain fully flexible in response to technical developments and operational need.

Make commissioning decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.


Evaluate technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions, including process improvements in the FFF area of responsibilities.

Carry out technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of FFF commissioning capability.

Act as the main point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives.

Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working and their development.

Represent platform IPT FFF Test and Commissioning on technical matters (including meetings and correspondence)

Liaison with engineering to resolve technical queries

Integrate and work with FFF Engineering Sub-contractors.

Key Outputs/Deliverables:

Conduct setting to work and commissioning of FFF systems

Co-ordinate the attendance of and support OEMs

Provide Support to Stage2/3 design

Populate and maintain Completions Management System

Manage "In build" maintenance

Monitor and record progress

Maintain Tag Out procedures for commissioned equipment

Conduct HATs and SATs

Witness FATs

Amend/Complete where required FFF Test Forms

Implement best practice

Promote Improvement

Provide Final Documentation Post Trials
