We have an opportunity for a Mechanical CAD Designer at one of the Nuclear Power Stations in Wales.
This role is to provide support and assistance to the clients Concept Design Manager in the day to day management / interface with the competing consortia producing concept design packages for the reactor core dismantling at Trawsfynydd Site. The individual will report to the clients Concept Design Manager within the Decommissioning Directorate.
The individual is to support a multi-disciplinary team with the option to consultant with necessary specialists as required to support the on-going management and delivery of the concept designs up to Design Authority Review 2 (DAR 2). Once DAR 2 has been completed, the individual could be moved on to support the Integrated Optioneering (IO) using the output of the concept work which will take place in Financial Year 2021/2022.
Provide prompt resolution of questions or technical issues to ensure timely delivery
Liaison with site and centrally based teams during development of the design
Maintain engagement with contractor design reviews
Ensure that the contractor output meets the requirements requested
Leading liaison to close out designs with appointed Subject Matter Experts and Intelligent Customers to confirm designs are safe, compliant, fit for purpose
Review/sign off of design documentation delivered for the project
Maintain knowledge of the contractor work, ensuring that the integrated optioneering activity can be subsequently delivered
Preparation of design deliverables where required
Delivering the designs through the engineering gating process (S-414) (Design authority reviews)
Other work scope as requested by the Programme Delivery Manager/Client Concept Design Manager
Representation at internal and external forums as required, COVID restrictions allowing if not via Teleconference/Teams/Zoom etc.
