Morson International are looking to recruit a Master Scheduler to join a large name within the Rail Industry.

The individual shall be responsible for all Material Requirement Planning (MRP). They will be directly accountable for the management of material demand ensuring that adequate supplies of materials are available to meet the project / installation schedules.

In addition the jobholder will be expected to manage the release of these materials from stores to the projects ensuring materials are appropriately tracked through to installation.

Principle Activities

The jobholder will work with various Project Delivery Managers/ Planners, Supply Chain Managers and the Installation teams to develop the appropriate Project Supply Chain structure in SAP, and then execute and maintain Master Production Schedules (MPS).

The jobholder shall be expected to hold regular programme reviews with senior stakeholders to ensure the continuity of the plan, taking into consideration changes to programme installation dates and Engineering Changes Notes (ECN's); smoothing demand when appropriate to ensure an optimal inventory balance whilst reducing work in progress (WIP). The post holder will be expected to consider the implication of the proposed plans on warehousing demand with a view to minimizing our requirements and cost whenever possible.

The jobholder will be expected to support the materials manager to deliver continuous improvement into the supply chain. With particular reference to the ERP Master Data, planning and supply chain processes using lean management techniques. As a minimum there is an expectation that the jobholder shall introduce the following "best practices" into an environment which is unfamiliar in there use:

  • Production Work Orders
  • Engineering Change Management
  • Bills of Material
  • Management by Exception

The Applicant will ideally be able to demonstrate considerable experience working in an MRP planning/scheduling environment using SAP ECC6, with extended knowledge of BOM's, ECN control ERP Master Data and inventory / warehouse management.

They should be confident in their ability to deliver, be highly organised, an excellent communicator, with an ability to influence senior stakeholders, with resilience to working in a 'change environment'.
