Our client a leading Oil & Gas Operator are seeking a Marine Supervisor for a Staff role based in Aberdeen.

Position Overview

Responsible for Marine Operations to regulatory and company standards. Lead, plan and co-ordinate Marine team and vendors, ensuring all Marine activities are executed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the clients Uk Safety Management System.


Plan, prepare, allocate and supervise resources to provide safe and efficient marine, logistics and support service to site in compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and legislation
Manage team competence, development and performance to ensure all activities are carried out to the highest possible standard in accordance with the clients objectives

Key Duties

Ensure the Marine operations and support services are carried out safely and efficiently
Supervise the berthing, loading and sailing operations of tankers at the jetty and SPM
Maintain close communication with Marketing on vessel schedule and cargo availability
Review and assess any Demurrage or Cargo claims that may be submitted to the terminal. Provide accurate information and advise on the validity of such claims
Maintain records of all vessel's activities at the Terminal to ensure adequate information is available to illustrate any operational deficiencies and / or possibility to improve vessel's future performance
Ensure all Bills of Lading and associated documentation are correctly completed prior to vessel's departure
Act as Pilot in an emergency
Carry out ship vetting duties and clearance duties for the clients Uk Terminals
Supervise supply boat operations at the Jetty
Act as DA for Marine Craft when duty Supervisor
Prepare refit specifications, schedules and supervision for marine craft as required
Provide support where appropriate to other site departments
Liaise with site planner to ensure all activities are effectively planned, scheduled and executed in accordance with the clients Uk Planning & Scheduling Process
Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and crew change
Manage allocated marine and services budget effectively with minimum waste
Manage performance and development of team including progression through competency scheme
Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in cost or time without loss of integrity and present to management
Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
Create, maintain and enhance effective working relations and identify and minimise interpersonal conflict
Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace
Be familiar with and follow the clients Uk for Health and Safety at all times
Carry out audits to ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedure and site directives
Perform Emergency Response duties in accordance with the clients Uk's requirements

Education Attainment & Accreditation

Hold a certificate of competency as a Master mariner or similar. Additionally, with significant experience on tankers,
of which extensive time should have been as a senior officer with further experience as a ship superintendent or above with a tanker
company, oil terminal or port authority
Be fully conversant with the principles involved in the safe operating procedures employed whilst carrying out
cargo operations on oil and gas tankers
Have a thorough knowledge of the ISM code, MARPOL, SOLAS, OCIMF documents, and other internationally
recognised regulations
Be competent in the Emergency duties as specified in the Flotta Terminal Emergency Procedures and COMAH report
