This vacancy is for a Manufacturing Shop Floor Controller in a prototype / development workshop. This is NOT a stores vacancy. The role will involve issue, receipt and management of inventory with the loading, control and monitoring of work packages in a manufacturing environment.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Load the manufacturing cells with the requisite jobs in accordance with planned lead and cycle times, in order to comply with manufacturing programmes and delivery schedules
• Kitting activity
• Stock control / storekeeping including shelf life control
• Updating computer records
• Packing including the use of hand tools
• Receiving and issuing of tooling
• Loading and unloading of lorries

Essential Skills:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing shop floor role is absolutely essential, candidates without the above experience WILL NOT be considered
• Familiarity with heavy duty engineering environment, ideally aerospace or defence but candidates with engineering/manufacturing experience will suffice
• PC skills, including EXCEL
• Follow instructions
• Willing to work flexible shift patterns
• Work on own with minimal supervision
• Use own initiative
• Manual handling training
• Lifting & Slinging training (Including overhead cranes)

Desirable skills:

• ESD training
• Fork lift truck licence
• Knowledge of Kanban and 2 bin systems
• Experience with an Enterprise Planning System e.g. SAP

• As part of the onboarding process there will be a fork Lift Truck medical
