Our Client based in Burnley has a requirement for a Manufacturing Engineer to work on the below contract role.
Manufacturing Engineer, with a good understanding of paint process, equipment & products.
Good knowledge of metallic materials & manufacturing processes.
Able to read Engineering drawings.
Able to create clear and accurate work instructions for paint processes.
Ability to define, modify & maintain paint process documentation, including WIS, COS, ECR & PPAP Production / shopfloor support through first build, process improvements & non quality issues.
Experience of using / implementing Lean Sigma and Quality tools.
Innovative and wanting to continually improve the paint process.
You will be required to communicate opportunities and work within the operational, quality and design teams to develop most efficient ways to use people, parts and tooling, highlighting areas that can be improved and working with the operations team to implement these changes by creating action & timing plans that can be used to measure the implementation progress.
You need to able to work to tight deadlines, have good written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to coordinate and manage relationships with internal and external customers both in the UK and France.
The ideal candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and be motivated by completing tasks in a timely manner. You also need to be self-driven, resourceful & independent, whilst still working in a team environment. Be target driven and be able to communicate at all levels of the business Adaptability to change of plan and circumstances is a must have.
Candidate skills & requirements
Extensive experience of paint shop environment including environmental controls, process & equipment constraints along with process requirements.
Ability to select / identify suitable process & materials for intended application.
Investigate potential processes for modifications / improvements to existing paint operations.
To define / optimise the paint process for each component / assembly, based on the correct balance of cost, quality, lead time, manufacturability, safety and performance, ensuring a robust & repeatable process.
Produce cost estimates / standard times for paint shop processes Develop and implement product inspection / quality measures. Produce cost justification for potential investment DATA management (drawings, master layouts, batch cards)
Cata V5 & PLM
Produce item masters, routes, production bills of materials, master layouts, tooling requests, COS & ECR's for Composites & Assemblies products through the paint shop
Knowledge of Design & Manufacture Configuration process & activities
Risk management using PFMEA
To provide structured problem solving (8D, RCCA etc.) support to paint non quality issues
To support the dispositioning of non-conformances arising from paint processes and the definition of any associated repair solutions
To complete paint process related corrective actions resulting from paint process non-conformances
To work rigorously to SAFRAN group procedures.
Contribute to HSE & ergonomic conformity throughout the assembly lines & site
