Our Client has a requirement for a Manufacturing Engineer to undertake the below contract role.
The role will involve:
Creating and maintaining a project plan to ensure timely manufacture of the demonstrators.
Participation in preparation for Technology Readiness Level reviews.
Working closely with the UK based design department to ensure design for manufacture.
Working with the research & technology teams to understand manufacturing requirements.
Create a manufacturing process for the assembly of the demonstrators.
Populating SAP for manufacturing Bill of Material and assembly routings.
Write assembly work instructions.
Develop a tooling methodology (low volume) and work with tooling department to ensure timely tool availability.
Working with purchasing to assist in product understanding.
Ensuring manufacture of demonstrators conform to the product definition.
Liaison with metrology department to ensure product have the correct conformance checks.
Create first article information.
The objective of the air inlet demonstrators is to ensure that the Client is able to demonstrate to the market validated (TRL6 maturity) Inlet Architecture and Associated Technologies by the end of 2020.
The candidate will require the following:
Free thinker with the ability to create new manufacturing concepts.
Assess manufacturing concepts (engineering, quality & cost).
Ability to industrialise products.
Process planning of products in concept designs.
High level of engineering knowledge.
Highly organised and motivated
Experience in supporting the manufacture of aerospace products
