Our Client based in Western Approach, Bristol has a requirement for a Manufacturing Engineer to undertake the below contract roll.

Shift: 24/7 day shift - 6am to 6pm Mon/Tues/Fri/Sat and Sun one week and Wed/Thurs the other week rotating weekly.

Rate £29ph days + 28% shift allowance = £37.12ph Ltd

To support and enable continued operational requirements to be met timely and effectively


Good understanding of 5 axis machining of composite components.
Assist in the definition of manufacturing process and inspection plans.
Update ASO's within SAP.
Control and manage drawing sets for operations.
Accountable for re-work planning including concessions and AIs.
Responsible for handling non-conforming products.
Working in conjunction with the QMS.
Capture, analyse and prepare reports on the development and production activities.
Act as interface between ME and other stakeholders.
Adjustment of Bill of Material's (BOM) for optimal assembly.
Project planning for small scale projects.
Apply risk management tools and processes including PFMEA to capture risks and opportunities.
Identify process improvements delivering time, cost and quality benefits to the value stream.
Provide shop support during the development stage and subsequent production phase (QN's, MEQN's, concessions etc.)
Instigate tooling requirements and resolve jig and fixture issues.
Capacity evaluation - monitoring cell and process times and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Initiate and create Standard Operation Instructions.
Input to KPI data, analysed via statistical process control and monitor and report accordingly.

Manage NCR's 8D immediate customer protection within 48 hours and 90 day closure.


Holds minimum of ONC in Mechanical/ Production/ Aeronautical Engineering or served an appropriate engineering apprenticeship
Previous experience in a ME or Production Engineering role or a minimum of 5 years aircraft manufacturing experience in Aircraft systems & structures


Understanding of composite machining gained in the Aerospace or similar industry
Understand Aerospace quality requirements
Working knowledge of geometric dimensional and tolerancing
Basic understanding of aircraft structure
Able to produce project plans and manage small scale projects
Knowledge of ICY requirements
Foundation knowledge of CATIA V5
Extensive knowledge of SAP and knowledge of non-conformity process and tools useful
Innovative and strong problem solving skills
Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm and approachable
Working knowledge of PDM link and Microsoft packages
Self-motivated with good communication skills
A flexible approach to working
Ability to work as part of a team and to work on own initiative
Awareness of Health and Safety requirements
