Our client in the Trafford Park area currently has a requirement for 2 Food Manufacturing Apprentices, to undergo a 4 year apprenticeship at their world class manufacturing site.

Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a Process Operator or Lead Production Operator position.


Over the course of the four year apprenticeship, you will work as part of a production team learning the engineering skills required to successfully support the operation of one of our production departments, working to high safety and quality standards.

You will work towards completing the Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship standard, including the Process Technology Certificate at Level 2 and 3. In addition you will complete an NVQ in Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Petro-Chemical Operations.

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided and you will complete detailed training logs and produce a portfolio to support your training and studies and prepare you for the end point assessment.


In addition to your qualifications you will:

Train in the safe and effective operation of the plant and equipment on the plant
Learn to use a central display screen to monitor the plant and identify issues
Carry out in-process quality control checks and other analytical checks
Carry out routine Maintenance tasks
Learn to identify and resolve problems with the process


Skills / Qualifications:

To be considered for our Apprenticeship ideally you will have a minimum of five GCSEs, or equivalent, including Maths and English preferably at grade "C" or grade 4, or higher, and ideally a science.

An ability to demonstrate a genuine desire to work in an engineering/manufacturing environment

Inquisitiveness and a strong desire to learn

Strong problem solving ability

A social approach to work
