Title: Management Accountant/Overheads Controller

We have just received a new requisition from a key client in the Defence Industry for an Overheads Controller to be based at their Crawley offices.
Reporting to the Reporting & Overheads Manager, this specialist role will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely overheads information to an assigned legal entity within the DMS domain. The role will involve liaising with various stakeholders throughout the business to understand, challenge and report the overheads and headcount of the business. You will play a pivotal role in providing accurate, timely and reliable information to senior management, along with variance analysis and commentary, to aid their decision making. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
*Lead monthly overhead, headcount and DLU (Direct Labour Utilisation) reviews with department managers, ensure control of overhead costs, comparisons between actual and budget, defining actions and ensuring resolutions. Ensure details are documented to comply with Internal Compliance Questionnaire (ICQ) requirements.
*Challenge managers with regards to financial performance against targets, budgets and KPIs and support action setting and decision making.
*Responsible for the preparation and review of monthly Cost By Nature (CBN) and Functional Cost Report (FCR) reports, including commentary and analysis as may be requested by Group, UK or business management.
*Lead overhead multi-year budget (MYB) process.
*Lead overhead reforecasting process and preparation of regular rolling headcount forecast
*Provide information on headcount evolution comparing supply vs. demand.
*Provide specific analytical reports to cost centre managers.
*Calculation of MOD Rates and preparation of MOD Reporting.
*Calculation of Internal Labour Rates.
*Responsible for the preparation and posting of journal vouchers, including accruals, prepayments, corrections etc.
*Review of journal voucher postings made by the Shared Accounting Services (SAS) team and preparation of additional accruals or adjustments as required.
*Escalate risks and opportunities to the appropriate level of management in a timely manner.
*Assist in standardising processes.
*Ensure departmental deadlines and commitments are achieved.
*Liaising with Overhead Controllers from other parts of the business and implementing / following standard ways of working.
*Ad hoc tasks, reporting and analysis as required by the cost centre managers and / or Finance Director.
*Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
*Strong analytical skills, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
*Robust and reliable, capable of implementing controls, changes and new systems.
*Solid Excel and financial modelling skills
*Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both within finance and across the wider business.
*Exposure to ERP systems
*Exposure to TM1/Cognos
