Currently recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician based in Manchester.
This is a permanent role.
The role will involve:
To bolster the maintenance team in daily activities, To ensure the safe and uninterrupted
running of all plant, equipment and services both productive and non-productive, using
both planned and breakdown maintenance.
1. Provide technical and electrical maintenance support
a. Prioritise maintenance requirements to suit business needs
b. Interrogation of SCADA system to diagnose faults and facilitate repairs.
c. Breakdown, improvement, repair and planned maintenance across site
d. Ensuring routine machine maintenance is carried out as necessary
e. Available for out of hours advise or call out attendance as required
f. Work with external contractors on both preventative & reactive works
2. Work to health and safety guidelines and ensure practices are maintained and
a. Work in a safe manner both to themselves and to their colleagues
b. Comply with all relevant H&S policies and procedures and act as a role
model in demonstrating compliance within the workplace
3. Attend production meetings
4. Assist with problem solving any issues that appear.
a. Communicate any issues through appropriate methods to the site service,
technical and departmental heads where necessary.
5. Identify and develop improvements / procedures
a. Development of safe systems of work
b. Aid in the development of existing apprentices
Knowledge & Skills:
1. Engineering Experience
a. ONC/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Plant Engineering
b. SCADA Control or equivalent
c. Good understanding of engineering practices and methods
d. Plant knowledge
e. Completed an engineering apprenticeship
2. Communication & Leadership
a. Able to communicate effectively through various written methods
b. Assertive when required
c. Able to delegate effectively
d. Able to motivate and recognise opportunities for team members to develop
e. Proactively identifies and deals with conflict
f. Acts with initiative
g. Understand what motivates his team and gets the best from them.
3. Computer skills
a. Knowledge of Excel, able to understand and interpret spreadsheets
b. Good understanding of Word, Outlook & PowerPoint
c. Able to work with maintenance management software, SharePoint and
Syteline and understand the limitations / processes of these systems
