Maintenance Manager

Permanent Position based Northwich

Who are we?

Tata Chemicals Europe (TCE) is the UK's sole producer of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate, as well as the market leading producer of salt. We are also one of Europe's leading producers of these and other related products.

There are exciting times ahead for us as we embark on major investment across all our manufacturing sites in Cheshire to grow the business and deliver reliable high quality products into increasingly diverse markets. This programme of investment and development at our Lostock site includes major infrastructure projects that will secure our position as a market leader in the production of Soda Ash.

Our role:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the transformation of plant reliability and performance at our Lostock facility. You will be highly skilled and experienced in analysing equipment performance and reliability issues and devising maintenance strategies to achieve demonstrable improvements. You will have a track record of improving maintenance execution performance and effectiveness by working with maintenance teams to improve maintenance metrics and KPIs.
The successful candidate will be the sort of person who enjoys working with people, be the ambassador for standards in maintenance and won't be afraid to roll up their sleeves and be visible out on plant supporting their teams during the challenges they face.

To be successful it will often require you to sell your ideas and change ingrained approaches, so your communication skills will be exceptional, as well as the ability to solve problems. You will need to be an outgoing, confident and engaging people manager who can gain respect quickly.

This is an important role in an ambitious company, so if you are prepared to take accountability and are committed to developing the skills, knowledge and competency of staff, ensuring high levels of engagement to enable the business to grow and develop, then we really want to hear from you.

Your background:
You will have lead multi discipline maintenance teams and be familiar with implementing modern maintenance planning and execution systems including TPM, RCM and SMED.

We are ideally looking for someone who has worked in a chemical manufacturing environment but equally you may come from a heavy engineering or manufacturing background.
You will be both strategic and delivery focussed, so attention to detail, planning and organising are key attributes, as is a high degree of technical competence.
TCE has a vision to be recognised for maintenance to be at the core of its business. We believe this requires a constant desire to meet the ever changing needs of the business and its people, and a dedication to outstanding delivery. We acknowledge the challenges and understand we have a journey ahead of us, but for the right people this is an exciting opportunity to make a difference.

TCE is a great place to work, our people are key and this role is an important appointment to our ongoing drive for success. We are looking for a strong team player who can add to and complement our great team.
