Title: Defence Logistics Assistant
Location: Chippenham
Duration: 6 months initially
Hours: Full time
Rate: £10.62 per hour PAYE

Our client in Chippenham is currently recruiting for a Logistics Assistant to manage assets within their repair organisation in order to meet the logistics performance criteria of a key Project.

This role will ideally suit someone with a military logistics background who can ensure that customer demands are satisfied within the Supply Chain Pipeline Time as defined within the Defence Logistic Framework and that repairable assets are repaired within the set Repair Turnaround Time.

Please note that SC clearance will be required for this role

Responsibilities

*Ensure that all demands received from the customer are captured and placed via the correct client process.
*Ensure that the Open Asset database and any other reporting spread sheets are kept up-to-date as close to 'live' as possible.
*Liaise with the client to ensure that all demands are delivered within the Pipeline time in order to meet current KPIs.
*Raise Issue Transaction Summaries and distribute to the customer.
*Progress any items subject to 760s through the MoD Delivery Team Engineering Authority to ensure timely release into stock.
*Receive assets for repair into the reverse supply chain and progress through the client to deliver to the OEM for repair.
*Shelf life management of stock
*Manage the Recall programme for assets held within stock
*Ensure that any discrepancies are reported to the Project Availability Manager.
*There will be occasions to visit the following sites for training and/or meetings:-
Crawley, Bristol, Larkhill, Leicester, West Wales Airport.

Skills and Experience

*Strong military avionics logistic supply background
*Working knowledge of asset tracking systems
*Working knowledge of Excel
*Knowledge of GOLDesp
*Full UK driving license
*Current SC Clearance
*Demonstrates attention to detail, particularly in investigating problems, and a pride in producing accurate work.
*Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined team environment with Suppliers, Thales employees and Customer present.
*Excellent technical observational and communications skills.
