Job Description

There is a vacancy at RAF Coningsby, within the Logistics Support team, for an experienced logistics or stores controller. The Logistics Support to the TyTAN repair process is essential in ensuring that the correct repairable asset is fed into the bay area at the right time to ensure that engineers, repair test equipment, spares and resource are available to complete the repair within the timescales allocated. In order to support these activities, the successful Logistics Controller will be responsible for the following tasks:-
* Support the planning of the tasking requirement to ensure the correct assets are delivered to the repair bay ready for work.
* Correctly receive the assets onto the local stores management systems.
* Control the demand of any spares required to support the repairs
* Liaise with the transport team for deliveries and collections
* Control the requirement for specialist packaging
* Driving of company vehicles around the RAF Coningsby site to expedite deliveries
* Complete all issue paperwork for the release of the assets back to the customer.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate or have an awareness of the following:

A basic knowledge of MoD and BAE Systems Inventory / Supply Chain Management techniques and principles.
An awareness of handling high value equipment. Confident and effective communicator and be IT literate.



Additional Information

WORKING HOURS - ON BASE
- 5 days p/wk (Mon-Fri) around relevant site core hours (7.30am - 4.30pm Mon - Thurs, 7.30am - 12pm Fri).


- Hours required to work per week are 37.00 unless otherwise stated (this does not include lunch breaks).

- Start and finish times to be agreed with local Line Management, in accordance with local site core hours.
- Lunch break allowance is 30 minutes between 12.30 - 1:00pm (or as agreed with Line Manager). 30 mins will automatically be deducted each working day by the electronic time management system.



- Dependant on workload, local management may request more or less hours are worked within this contract.



- Candidates should be aware that this position may involve shift work

Nightshift pattern Days: 07:30 till 16:00hrs and Nights: 16:00 to 02:00hrs



Responsibilities

In order to support these activities, the Logistics controller will be responsible for the following tasks:-

The Individual

There is a requirement to increase the serviceable holdings of Mission Essential Equipment available for the RAF Customer. This is referred to as the new CASP20 requirement. To support this increase in AWES bay output, a further Logistics Support position has been agreed and will operate at RAF Coningsby and will be responsible for the correct receipt of unserviceable assets, managing the spares requirements during the repair, and finally issuing the serviceable assets to the correct requirement.

The candidate must have excellent Microsoft Office Excel and Stores management skills and must have good Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
