Our client is looking for a Lifting Service Trainer to develop, plan, implement and instruct all slinging, OHTC and fleeting courses as required by the company for their Plymouth site.
Principal Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop, plan, implement and instruct all slinging, OHTC and fleeting courses as required by the company.
To determine the competence of staff and contractor lifting operations personnel.
Arrange and ensure all lifting equipment for course use remains regulatory compliant at all times.
Support audit programme and monitor performance against policy. Take appropriate action as required.
Arrange and liaise with asset owners to minimise disruption during course delivery.
Produce course feedback and communicate results to line managers in a timely manner. Maintain all associated training records for course booking, results, accreditation and feedback.
Support staff in setting the standard for risk assessment amongst lifting team.
Identify best practice and implement safety and efficiency improvements that will allow the company to be seen as an industry leader.
To select and procure equipment and materials associated with the provision of plant and services
To ensure that personnel are suitably trained to carry out their roles, and that all activity takes due account of company Health and Safety and Quality procedures
Reviewing legislation and incorporating updates into the site lifting policy and processes.
Provide support to safety case / nuclear engineers / engineering with regards lifting operations.
Identify any opportunities for continuous improvement and implement where possible. Measure and communicate the benefit of any improvement. (Health and Safety or financial.)
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
NPORS Train the Trainer is essential for this role along with the following:
- Appointed Person
- Crane Supervisor
- Slinger Signaller
- Fleeting and Rigging Experience
