Lift Operative - Anderton Boat Lift - Northwich

The roles primary duty is the safe operation of the Anderton Boat Lift.
In addition, potentially working in a shop, catering or generally at the site as needed.
Delivering excellent service through safe and efficient boat passage. Providing an exceptional environment for customers to enjoy, the upselling of commercial products and maintenance of the site when required.
Working with other staff and volunteers, the role will undertake the following key responsibilities:
Working outside, maintaining the upkeep of the lift and surrounding area to maximise network availability.
Provide excellent customer service through operation of the Trusts asset (Anderton Boat Lift) in a safe and timely manner.
Respond to enquiries to maximise customer satisfaction.
To protect the natural and historic environment associated with the waterways by ensuring their consideration during all work activity.
Provide a first level of response to ensure the safety of customers and the availability of the network, participating in a rolling rota (including weekends and bank holidays).
Work alongside and supervise volunteers, to deliver high quality works, maintaining and building on our high levels of volunteer satisfaction.
Undertake work in a productive and efficient manner delivering the work to the correct standard and agreed programme.
Display the Trust values and behaviours at all times, ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of Trust life and promote inclusion by challenging behaviour, practices, actions, or decisions that are counter to the objectives of the Trusts policies and values.

Skills and Qualifications
Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) ESSENTIAL
Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people to pass safety critical information concisely as well as informative/ promotional information.

Willingness to work outdoors and on a rota basis covering weekends and bank holidays
Experience in a customer facing role within a experience of working with plant and machinery
Competency based training for specific tasks/ roles/ use of equipment
Judgement and initiative in the delivery of safety evacuations and training exercises
Literate in the use of computers, internet
