The Lead Repair Development Engineer - OVH is responsible for understanding the current repair shop capabilities and determine feasibility for development of new repair projects. This person will investigate existing hardware and alternate parts to develop repair procedures and specifications that will be approved by FAA Designated Engineering Representatives or customers. The individual ensures design features are consistent with functional performance and safety requirements for the aircraft engine installation.

As new repairs are developed, this person will ensure all hardware, fixtures, and equipment are available and aid in the training of repair personnel to perform ongoing work. Operational processes will be examined, created, and implemented for continued improvements and compliance to the Repair Station Manual.

This position sits in Warren, MI and will report to the Repair Business Manager.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead team of repair development / process engineers in the overhaul of complex engine components.
* Help establish and develop best practices to ensure an efficient and safe repair procedures or developed
* Plays an active roll in technical projects relating to all new repair development
* Ensure engineering team adheres to repair development schedules and communicates progress to customers and internal stakeholders.
* Provide technical support for procurement, manufacturing, receiving, repair, and certification of repairs
* Evaluate parts and assemblies for repair feasibility, producibility, cost, tooling and outside processing
* Conduct and prepare detailed dimensional analysis of sample parts to support development of new repair
* Create CAD models and production drawings using ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards. Prepares Manufacturing Operation Sheets (MOSs) to clearly communicate process details to operators
* Train technical personnel in the repair of new components and ensure required equipment is available
* Develop processes to ensure work is performed per FAA regulations, Customers regulations and Repair Station Manual
* Create processes to improve efficiency and safe operations
* Coordinates with other departments to develop a unified approach for process improvement of product.
* Interfaces with O.E.M.s, customers, regulatory agencies and project-related people within the Company.
* Performs cost study and compares actual project cost to quoted project cost and reports findings
* Create processes to improve efficiency and safe operations
* Ensures adherence to applicable internal, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations
