Our client is looking for a Lead Engineer to support the Head of Structures, Plant Arrangement and Civil Engineering with daily technical leadership and management within the discipline area, offering general discipline knowledge and where necessary a deep knowledge of an assigned area.
The post holder is to provide technical advice, and where assigned, supervision of supply chain activities.
The post holder shall also support the Head of Head of Structures, Plant Arrangement and Civil Engineering in providing adequate control and oversight of the design (including modifications and concessions) with responsibility for review and acceptance of all Plant Arrangement aspects of the UK ABWR.
Applicants must possess a degree or equivalent qualification in a suitable subject (engineering or science or architecture).
Be recognised by at least one appropriate professional body (e.g. Chartered Engineer or Scientist (or equivalent), registered architect.
CSCS 'Professionally Qualified Person' Card or similar (If not held candidate will need to obtain appropriate card)
Demonstrates a track record of success, achievement and learning in career to date, adding value within relevant positions.
Practical project delivery skills, with evidence of ensuring delivery to stringent deadlines and standards
Ability to deliver a Customer focused approach to providing advice, support and technical expertise into the Sub-programme and Delivery Areas.
Experience of Safety Assessment Principles and Site License Conditions.
A fundamental understanding of discipline principles and methods throughout the full asset lifecycle associated with analysis techniques, design, materials, software and specification including any nuances appropriate for the nuclear sector.
Experienced in specification, development, control, checking and critical review of work within a complex, high value and regulated environment.
Experience within the sector and knowledge of appropriate international and national legislation, regulation, codes and standards.
Ability to document design claims, arguments and evidence with particular consideration to design basis and substantiation.
Ability to communicate design solutions to a wide audience consisting both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Ability to challenge and augment design solutions to meet Safety, Security, Health, Environment and Quality (SSHEQ), Operational and design requirements.
Experience of producing technical specifications, design basis and substantiation documents.
Experience of formal acceptance processes within regulated environments, preferably the Nuclear sector.
Demonstrates effective planning, prioritisation and delivery (through self and others).
Ability to communicate effectively and to build productive and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
