Our client based in Grangemouth Laboratory Technician on a full time, Permanent basis.

37.5 hours per week worked 5 out of 7 days so candidates should be flexible.

Shift hours include a 30 min unpaid break and are normally worked within the following pattern:

06.00am-14.00pm

08.00am-16.00pm

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for supporting the Quality and Systems Manager in providing a high quality and proactive range of Laboratory services across the business.

Main responsibilities will include:

Quantitative assessment of fish feeds against physical & nutritional specifications.

Providing technical support for analytical methods.

To report any out of specification or out of trend results and to document any deviation from analytical procedures.

To assist in the investigation of out of specification or out of trend results

Liaising with Production colleagues on out of spec product

Assisting in maintaining a clean working environment within the Quality Control Laboratory.

Setting up laboratory equipment, calibration and maintenance of equipment.

QC responsibilities need to include non-conformance reporting, raw materials, flesh, medication, pigments, HACCP and feed safety.

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience working within a Laboratory.

High level of attention to detail required,

Previous experience of working to deadlines and showing a flexible approach to work demands

Previous experience of data entry work with a high degree of accuracy

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

A can-do attitude, pro-active, driven and curious.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on systems is essential for this role.

General understanding of Quality and HSE processes

Ability to communicate results in a clear and concise manner with stakeholders
