Laboratory Apprentice - Based Northwich, Cheshire.
Apprenticeship qualification - Laboratory technician Level 3 apprenticeship (Further study is available post apprenticeship)
Location: Across two Chemical Manufacturing sites in Cheshire
Start Date: April 2020

Whats the role?
As a Laboratory Apprentice you will be working under the guidance of a Lab Analyst and will be involved in all aspects of Laboratory work at one of our chemical manufacturing plants across Cheshire.
What will you be doing?
Collecting samples from sample points located within chemical process plant areas. Conducting analysis and interpretation of results. Undertaking analysis and investigations on non-routine samples (OOS). Managing the laboratory calibration schedule and stocks of laboratory consumables including reagents. Managing waste from the lab and plant. Providing support, guidance and training to the Process Operations team. Writing technical reports as required. Liaising with different teams to deliver results. Following SOPs and keeping training file up to date. Creating and using log books to collate data. Performing trending of data to share with the wider team.Supporting other labs throughout the business.

Even better if you have any of the following:
Knowledge of chemistry/laboratory work/chemical manufacturing plant Placement experience within a chemical environment
Qualifications Ideally you will have grades 5 x GCSE grades A-C (now 4-9) in Math, English and a Science subject

A generous starting salary of £10,500 plus £250 travel bursary with annual increases throughout the apprenticeship with potential earnings post apprenticeship in excess of £20,000
