Roles and Responsibilities
* Research and identification of roadwork on a nationwide level for a major UK retailer
* Investigation of areas of concern through liaisons with Project Managers, Engineering, Contractors and Local Councils
* Reviewing Project drawings, phasing plans, schedules as well as associated Traffic Management Plans
* Identifying areas of possible improvement or resolve/mitigation
* Ascertain potential levels of impacts caused on traffic/customers and deliveries due to the identified engineering works
* Reporting back to Regional Managers and store managers via email and telephone
* Reporting back to the clients on a weekly basis clearly through preparation and recording of relevant information on works/ actions undertaken and next steps

Methodology
1. Identification and collection of raw data
* Identification of planned engineering works or events near client assets through the Roadworks.org portal, Scottish Roadworks Register and NI Roads portal. Also checking for roadworks through Local Authority websites/roadwork registers or any other relevant sources.
* Collection and Recording of raw data on the Highway Works Tracker Report
* Predicting whether works are likely to cause any significant disruption and if further information needs to be obtained
* Contacting local Council, Utilities and/or contractor to obtain engineering phasing plans and traffic management plans for further insight. Discussing the project in detail to verify project schedules, working hours, site agents and the impact on traffic congestion, journey times and the store trade.
* Assessing the overall potential impact caused on the local transport system

2. Production of NIR Report
* Preparation/production of the Highways Works Report on a weekly basis clearly detailing all information obtained, assessing impacts caused on the store what the next steps will be Issuing the report to regional managers each week
* Keeping track of major works to ensure potential impact on stores/asset trade is minimised by speaking with engineers/project managers/local authorities regularly, or when required all information is to be recorded and updated on the NIR Report
* Works near stores are assessed one region per week (total of six regions) four reports issued in total per month

3. Next Steps Report and Interventions
* Works identified to have a potentially significant impact on an asset may require further action
* Next steps reports are produced on a store by store basis for distribution to the relevant parties
* Major works that may require intervention in order to reduce/mitigate potential impacts caused scale of intervention will vary and is dependent upon significance of impact, local authorities, contractors and proposed traffic management strategies.

* Be able to communicate at different levels i.e. Regional managers, store managers, local authorities, contractors etc (both written and verbal)
