Junior PM required to manage the delivery of a group of 'low complexity' IT projects to internal and external customers; managing customer expectations, customer experience, internal and external suppliers, project schedule within MSP, and reporting activities within a PPM toolset.
You will typically be managing around 10-15 projects concurrently, and will be required to deliver around 40-50 projects throughout the year. An ability and energy to drive pace, and predictability throughout the process is required and therefore enthusiasm, and perseverance are key qualities.
The projects themselves are diverse in range, covering a number of hosting, networking, collaboration and security technology areas, albeit at a low complexity level.
You will be working within a high-performing and highly-collaborative team, involved in daily project standups, and engaging regularly with customers and suppliers. Therefore strong communication skills, being personable, and operating with tact and diplomacy are all essential traits.
The individual must adhere to internal delivery assurance processes and must be comfortable collaborating across internal teams and roles, in order to fulfil and deliver their group of projects.
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
Adheres to regulatory processes and procedures relevant to the project. May include internal Project Management methodology, life cycle management
Manage the delivery of the project to time cost and schedule in accordance with business success criteria and customer satisfaction.
Leads and manages the delivery of low complexity projects or a work package within a larger project.
Typically managing a single supplier
Identify and manage project level risks, issues, opportunities
Prepare and manage realistic project plans.
Track project changes
Project reporting as required by the project assurance framework, PPM, customers and stakeholders
Monitor costs and resources against agreed budgets, take appropriate action for any overspends
Identify and record lessons learned.
The typical knowledge, skills and qualification required for this role include:
Can demonstrate experience of collaboration and cross functional working
Experience of working on IT projects and successfully managing suppliers as part of the project delivery team
Understanding of project lifecycle management
Experience of working within an environment with mature and established governance practices and processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to competently and confidently manage stakeholders at all levels
Ability to work within a team
Confidence to challenge the status quo through bold behaviours
Competent user of Microsoft suit of products
Familiarity with computer-based Project Management tools including MS Projects MSOffice etc. Some formal Project Management training, preferably PRINCE2 and/or PMDY.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
