IT Technical Stock Controller - Based in Middleton, Manchester with occasional travel to other sites. Temporary Contract leading to possible Permanent Position.

JOB PURPOSE:

Working with the local team in our Manchester spare parts recovery centre, you'll provide real-time support to the technical repair team located in Norwich to manage spare parts recovery and supply.
You will identify, test and harvest parts from a range of procured electronic equipment, primarily but not limited to laptop / PC / Games consoles / Apple Mac and variants thereof. Knowledge and experience of laptop and server spare parts across different models is key in this role.

To set up and manage the inventory of the harvested parts on company systems, taking full responsibility for stocks and performing PI counts and full stock takes as required and when requested.

PRINCIPAL TASKS OF JOB:
Parts Harvesting
Identify the correct products and test for functionality. Disassemble the product into the required modular sections, for example for a laptop.
LCD; Main-board; Memory Module; Keypad; Housing; Flex Components; Hard Drive

Ensure compliance of the clients policies and procedures
To be aware of the Health & Safety requirements, in accordance with guidelines as set out in the Health & Safety manual.
To have a flexible approach to work.
To attend training courses as and where necessary to ensure personal and team job skills keep pace with legislative and business developments.

OTHER DUTIES
To adhere to all health and safety guidelines and other statutory regulations.
To undertake any other tasks as requested by the Technical Compliance Manager.
To work extra hours / flexible hours and at remote sites if required.
Ensure compliance of Company policies and procedures
To attend training courses as and where necessary to ensure personal job skills keep pace with legislative and business developments.
To be aware of the Health & Safety requirements, in accordance with guidelines as set out in the Health & Safety manual.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Have a thorough knowledge with experience in Laptop and PC repair / configuration.
Computer Literate with good IT skills and familiar with MS Office and Excel.
Experience in handling ESD components.
Excellent communication skills
Excellent numeric & literacy skills
Excellent customer interface skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage and resolve difficult situation.

Professional/Academic/ Vocational Qualifications
C&G Appropriate electronic / technical based qualification.
Company attained or college attained IT repair qualification.

Relevant experience

At least 2 years experience in Laptop or PC repair backed up by appropriate reference
Service repair, production, engineering or manufacturing experience.
Previous experience of Waste Management
