ROLE OVERVIEW

The main purpose of the role is to provide specialist IT support to the business and ensure that the department meets and/or exceeds agreed service levels, while continuing to support and improve procedures and work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acknowledge and manage incidents on the helpdesk system
  • Diagnose and rectify software/hardware faults in accordance with SLA
  • Review/amend procedures and work instructions where appropriate
  • Identify and capture continuous improvement opportunities
  • Define and document the necessary backup, recovery and start up routines for systems within scope
  • Provide out of hours support where appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant degree qualification or industry experience
  • ITIL Foundation would be advantageous

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Application Lifecycle Management experience
  • Knowledge ofITIL Based application support (Incident, Assets, Service Requests, Change Management and Problem Management)
    • Experienced and competent with:
  • IBM Unix Administration and Hardware support on Power Series Hardware
  • IBM SAN Administration
  • Oracle DBA 11.2,12c
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager Ad
  • SQL Scripting
  • IBM TSM/Spectrum Protect Software Administration and Support
  • IBM TSM Tape Library Administration and Hardware support
  • Enterprise Applications on AIX systems - ideally ERP
  • Able to work independently or with minimal supervision/guidance
