IT SYSTEMS ENGINEER
General Description
Our client is seeking an experienced, mid-level IT professional to assist with supporting in-house Long Beach and Bay Area Office personnel. The candidate will be performing the work from Long Beach.
5-10 years' experience monitoring and maintaining computer systems, peripherals and network connectivity for a medium sized organization. Must be knowledgeable in installation, configuration of end user computer systems as well as diagnosing hardware/software faults and solve technical and applications problems at the end user level. The candidate will be working within Active Directory Services in a Domain environment.
Qualifications
* 5-10 years' applicable work experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
* Strong proficiency troubleshooting both hardware and software issues on laptops, workstations, and servers
* In depth knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services (Group Policy, DNS, etc)
* Proven ability to manage firewalls, network switches, VPNs, and phone systems.
* Intermediate knowledge of network design and troubleshooting
* Experience working with ITIL best practices, Software Metering and Service Desk solutions
* Experience with systems backup technologies such as Symantec Backup Exec and other relevant backup solutions
* Experience with ManageEngine Tools, Office 365, Microsoft Exchange and Sharepoint is a plus
Responsibilities
* Computer Hardware Configuration, Deployment, Maintenance and Troubleshooting
* Software Installation and Deployment
* On-Site systems setup, teardown and preparation for new hires
* On-Site and Remote Technical Support
* Perform Software Metering activities
* Assist with Network Management and Server Administration
* Assist with Endpoint and Wireless Network Security Administration
* Assist with Active Directory Domain Services Administration
* Ensure Company Cybersecurity and Data Integrity Standards are Met
* Develop Technical Specifications and Systems Documentation
* Facilitate Hardware and Software Orders / Warranty Services with Preferred Vendors

Key Attributes
The system administrator must demonstrate technical knowledge and good understanding of hardware, software, and computer equipment to minimize office and interoffice downtime. The candidate must have a personable nature as he/she will work frequently with other employees, vendors and other IT professionals. An ability to communicate clearly, be patient and stay calm under pressure and tight deadlines is a must. The ideal system administrator will remain flexible and be able to manage and prioritize effectively multiple tasks simultaneously.
