Morson International are currently looking to recruit a Software Developer to work for one of our Large Aerospace/Defence Clients based in Yeovil, Somerset. This is a long term contract position.

The job holder will be involved with aspects of the development and ongoing support of IT solutions including:

  • Develop and implement new software programs
  • Development or enhancement of IT systems
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
  • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
  • Design and update software databases
  • Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimisation
  • Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
  • Identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability
  • Working closely with colleagues, testers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Supporting users on change control and system updates
  • Providing training and user materials to users


  • Technically strong in ASP, Microsoft Access DB
  • Familiarity with CSS will be a plus
  • Good appreciation of industrial software solutions and architectures
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • Follow software development best practices, lifecycle and methodologies
    (e.g. Agile, System Requirements Specifications, Unit test)
  • Object oriented programming
  • Working from a legacy code base
  • Unit testing, where practicable, addition of unit tests to provide robustness
  • Source code control in particular familiarity with Subversion
  • Strong attention to detail
