On behalf of our leading defence client Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) Morson are recruiting a Service Project Manager to support RBSL’s IT Transformation Programme which will support the company’s growth trajectory and will look to develop new manufacturing capabilities, facilities, tools and IT infrastructure as part of a multi-million pound investment. This will be a hybrid role 2 days/week on site and 3 days remote.

To provide the project management and delivery leadership for the IT Service Management workstreams.

Working closely with the BAU RBSL IT Service (IM&T) Team, Rheinmetall, BAe, ES Project Team, third parties and the RBSL Business functions to manage the instantiation of IT Service Management capabilities for all services being delivered to the RBSL business by the ES Programme.

Provide knowledge, support and coaching to the RBSL delivery team

To work with RBSL Operational and Business teams to ensure production and delivery of a project delivery plan working with the IT Service Transition Manager to ensure a successful transition from the current service provider to the new RBSL IT Solutions. Work closely with the Service Delivery teams, Programme teams and Business Stakeholders to ensure the teams understand the solution, have been trained and are ready to accept the solution.

Working closely with third parties and the Service delivery teams to define and achieve the operational readiness criteria, deliver service elements needed for the service transition approach.

Work closely with the IT Service Delivery Manager, RBSL Business functions and Rheinmetall parent company to agree the overall business requirements and assuring the proposed solutions meets those requirements.

1. Service Management and ITSM Delivery
2. Oversight of the Programme and Supplier teams to coordinate service delivery elements and planning.
3. Engaging with the Service Readiness teams to ensure that they are ready to accept the solution and that the solution is fit for purpose.
4. Producing, controlling and maintaining the IT service management project plan and approaches.
5. Assurance and approval of all Operational and Business readiness activities

• Define and maintain the project plan for all Service Delivery and ITSM work elements and communicate them to the relevant programme teams (RBSL and Supplier).
• Execution of the overall SM Project Plan.
• Reporting to Programme and BAU Service Leads
• Coordination across the RBSL delivery teams.

• Experience of Project Management in an Agile & Waterfall settings.
• Extensive experience of delivering ITSM capabilities with good working experience of Service Design and Service Transition approaches & planning.
• Experience of transitioning IT Services from one supplier to another.
• Experience of transitioning IT Services into a “Greenfield” setting, including the delivery of a new IT Operating Model
• Experience of dealing with Project and Business stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent problem solving and framing skills.
• Solid project governance and assurance skills, having the ability to use and apply techniques effectively
• Ability to direct and lead project and business resources to achieve successful delivery outcomes.

• ITIL V3, or ideally V4 knowledge/qualifications
• Project Management qualifications e.g. AgilePM, PRINCE2, CSM, PMP, etc.
• Knowledge of ITSM platforms/solution e.g. ServiceNow.
• Experience of working in the Defence, Engineering and/or Manufacturing sector.
• Supplier, Service Integration and Management (SIAM) techniques.

The role is located in Telford. Ideally 2-3 days per week with the rest being remote.
