Internal Communications Officer; Crawley; £33.50/hr PAYE plus hols or £327/day LTD; 3 months contract

This role focuses on providing internal communications planning and delivery of the UK Internal Communications strategy and effective deployment of all internal communications in the UK to support the achievement of company strategy, performance plan and financial targets.

Successful delivery in this role will support & deliver the internal communication strategy which is designed to influence employee behaviours and generate great engagement & involvement creating the environment where employees give their best each day, always go the extra mile for customers and are motivated to contribute to the success of the UK part of the company.

This role reports to:
Head of Internal Communications

The Principal Relationships for this Position are:

Internal Communications Business Partner for specific business units
Works closely with the External communications business partner and transversally with other communication business partners within Country and Global Business Lines
Director of Communications, UK
External suppliers (as appropriate)

The Key accountabilites for this Internal Communications Officer Position are:

Support the annual UK and Country Business Unit [CBU] internal communications strategy, agreed by the Head of Internal Communications and the CBU Business Partner based on our UK Ambition and Ambition Boost Performance Programme

Support CBU to deliver activity associated with strategic campaigns to support business objectives.

Together with the CBU Business partner, create, agree and deliver effective internal engagement programmes based on feedback from the UK People survey that close the gap between leadership and people.

Represent the UK Communications team at events where appropriate and agreed by the Head of Internal Communications.

Travel to and provide communications support to relevant sites as required.

Manage the various online and offline communication channels across the CBU

Be a team player and share best practise across the functional team.

Campaign delivery:
Ensure that the annual rolling programme supports the timely delivery of Group, UK and CBU systematised activity and is aligned to CBU-specific activity.
Support management of production and delivery of campaigns on message and on budget.
Manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects with a sense of urgency.
Report back on measurement, as agreed with the Head of Internal Communications.
Provide internal stakeholders with updates on internal communications delivery, supporting the Head of Internal Communications reporting requirements.
Ensure that campaign deliverables adhere to the Brand Guidelines and match relevant procurement and delivery processes.

Story telling:
Support the annual strategic message platform that motivates colleagues to understand and take the appropriate action to achieve our Performance Plans and UK strategic priorities.
Source, write and edit internal content and publish across a range of channels
Ensure that all written content (intranet news, bulletins, team briefs, team listening content etc.) is on message.
Demonstrate excellent presentation and writing skills (i.e., produce clear, compelling, motivating content quickly).
Encourage and facilitate a culture of dialogue amongst audiences
Build the Company Story enabling individuals to understand how their day-to-day role contributes to the success of the UK and the whole group.

Key Experience and Skills required for this position;
Good demonstrable project management skills.
A good knowledge of internal communications disciplines, change communications and BAU communications activities.
Delivery of annual communications programmes that translate and make relevant Group, UK and CBU activity, ensuring timely, on budget delivery.
Demonstrable experience of understanding business requirements and supporting the Internal Communications Business Partner in translating these requirements into an annual rolling internal communications strategy and implementation programme that supports (and flexes with) these requirements.
Ability to deliver within an allocated budget.
Proven ability to recognise a newsworthy story and deploy the relevant tactics to optimise its impact.
Proven writing ability for digital, print, and briefings, for a range of internal stakeholders.

Strong, demonstrable team working and best practice sharing skills.

Qualifications required for this position are:
Essential:
Degree level English, Internal Communications / Employee Engagement, Journalism, Public Relations or related Communications field.
Desirable
Communications and/or marketing post graduate qualification.
Desirable:
Multilingual abilities (specifically French)
