We have an opportunity for an INSTRUMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN based on the Chapelcross Nuclear Site in Annan, Dumfriesshire.


ROLE PURPOSE

The successful Candidate will undertake assigned tasks within the Maintenance Team, having full regard to Site Licence requirements, Statutory Regulations and Company and Location Directives, Procedures and Safety Rules.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out core maintenance duties within his or her own level of demonstrated competence

Carry out operational tasks within scope and competence and to assist with fault investigations

Provide technical support to current and future project design and implementation

The post holder may be required to fulfill a role in the Site Emergency Scheme

As a customer focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence

The post holder may be required to carry out identified roles as necessary

Comply with the Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments

Support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality on Site

Support colleague learning and development through knowledge sharing, task instruction etc.

Must be a good team worker and safety conscious


TRAINING

The post holder will be required to complete training as defined in Common Training Profiles, supplemented by Site Specific Training Profiles when required


AUTHORISATIONS

The post holder may be required to achieve various authorisations in order to carry out the full scope of the role. The requirements for specific authorisations are specified in Common Authorisation Instructions.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Preferably a time-served Instrumentation apprenticeship
Appropriate technical qualification e.g. City and Guilds, BTEC ONC, (NQF Level 3)


EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE

Relevant experience in technical area is essential
Appreciation of RSA and IRR requirements is desirable
Plant Operations in areas assigned is desirable
Experience of working in the Nuclear Industry would be advantageous as
would experience with Radiation Control Monitors
