Instrumentation Design Specialist (I-III) (I&C Designer)

Morson International is currently recruiting for an Instrument Designer (I&C Designer) to join an industry leading Automation company in the Oil & Gas sector. This is a great opportunity to join a company that offers the ability to progress and an employee first mentality.

Job Experience:
10 to 20+ years' experience with design and layout. Must have field experience in the related field environment and be familiar with the use and care of personal safety equipment.

High School or equivalent

None required

Key Attributes:
Requires superior communications skills, both written and verbal. Must display the ability to direct a project design team and manage resources required to successfully complete project work. Must have ability to interface with client and direct junior staff and CAD resources.

Technical Capabilities:
A. P&IDs and PFDs
B. Generate new or modify existing Block Diagrams, Plan Drawings (Instrument/Electrical/Grounding), Conduit Routing
C. Develop simple and complex loop diagram, instrument index and wiring/connection diagrams and schematic diagrams
D. Design instrument/electrical control panels, junction boxes, instrument installation and mounting details
E. Ability to size conduit and wire for low voltage instrument and control circuits. Underground routing and cathodic protection
F. Ability to design DCS and PLC installations, including control room layouts, networking systems, I/O Marshalling and Terminal Cabinets, power supplies, interposing relays, transducers, wireless technology, other instrument and control hardware installations
G. Understand process and logic control theory and create logic diagrams
H. Develop construction scope of work and write technical documents such as functional specifications
I. Field walkdowns, factory acceptance tests and participate in field startups/commissioning
J. Develop bill of materials, material take off lists, construction estimates, and coordinate procurement from vendors
K. Must be able to complete a project from all phases beginning with project scope, IFD, IFA, IFC and As-Built.
