Our client, a world leader in the manufacture of defence engineering equipment, is looking to recruit an In-Circuit Test (ICT) Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility in Bolton, working on the clients Flying Probe ICT project. Role involves the development of manufacturing test packages and solutions, with particular focus on in-circuit testing for circuit card assemblies

Role responsibilities

  • Creation of flying probe test packages for flying probe (in-circuit testing) of component and net-level defects on circuit card assemblies
  • Creation of flying probe test programs from circuit card assembly data pack
  • Debug of flying probe test package to establish suitable test method and limits
  • Creation of manufacturing test specifications
  • Publishing test documentation using company Product-Lifecycle Management tool
  • Undertake test coverage analysis of circuit card designs to establish a test strategy and make Design-for-Testability recommendations to product design engineers
  • Provide technical support on flying probe and in-circuit testing to production test engineers and manufacturing.

Role requirements (skills, training and qualifications)

  • HNC/HND (Electronics) Level of Qualifications or equivalent
  • Experience with In Circuit Test (ICT) methodologies
  • Substantial level of experience in Digital and Analogue Electronics Manufacture and Test
  • In depth understanding of measurement and test principles
  • Knowledge of flying probe test platforms (SPEA) with experience in creating test packages
  • Knowledge of Boundary Scan test methods
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
