Human Factors Engineer

 

Location: Barrow

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £50 per hour LTD

 

The successful candidate will undertake Human Factors work, to support site based HF safety related activities, including:

  • Write HFIPs (work stream specific)
  • Update the HF Issues Registers
  • HF attendance / support to Hazard Identification (HAZID)
  • HF support to the identification of Human Based safety claims (HBSCs)
  • HF input to the Fault Schedule
  • HEP calculation sheets in support of the Fault Schedule
  • Assess Safety Actions (SAs) - Operator Claims in the safety case
  • HF Screening for detailed assessment
  • Detailed Human Error Assessment - DHEA Report

 

Proven Ability / Key Skills

  • Degree or higher qualified in a human factors or safety related discipline
  • Proven ability of providing HF advice to a large project
  • Human Factors Integration: Knowledge of writing HFIPs, managing a HF Issues Registers and producing human factors reports
  • Safety Case:
    • Knowledge of human factors in nuclear safety cases
    • Knowledge of Hazard ID
    • Used to working with Safety Case teams and fault schedules
    • Proven ability in conducting human reliability analyses and Detailed Human Error Assessments (DHEA)
    • Understanding of nuclear site licensing conditions - SAPs and TAGs
    • Knowledge of Design Basis Assessment (DBA) and Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) is desirable

Due to the sensitive nature of the product all applicants must have worked within the Defence / Military industry within the last 12 months or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
