To support the Head of HR in providing the strategic interface between HR and the business. With a deep understanding of the business, this role is a trusted partner to business Leaders and integral to the achievement of overall business and functional results. The role holder will also deputise for the Site HR Manager in his absence.
Key internal and external relations
Lead Team and functional heads to advise on change management.
Trade Unions in managing day to day employee relations issues, where influencing skills are required
Within the HR Team the main relationships are as a direct report to the Site HR Manager and as Line Manager as detailed above. Relationships are also important with other HR Business Partners within the HR Team to ensure the provision of integrated high quality support to the business
Managing the service delivery of 3rd Party providers e.g. Recruitment Partner and outsourced partner for learning and development
Off-site Trade Union Officials for employee relations
HR Managers at the other Client Sites for benchmarking
Partner with Business Leaders to deliver a HR service and people strategy in line with the needs and priorities of the business.
Build organisational capability through effective resourcing and learning and development processes to ensure the organisation is fit to deliver the business plan.
Work closely with Business Leaders to identify and manage organisational change programmes.
Drive performance management to ensure high performing workforce where individuals attain their optimum performance.
Deal with complex or sensitive day to day people management issues to ensure positive employee relations.
Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives across the business to drive sustainable performance.
Lead and motivate the HR Team to ensure service delivery is of a high standard.
Significant HR experience working as a senior leader or Business Partner
Experience of managing complex employee relations issues within a unionised environment
Demonstrable leadership experience
Experience of leading organisational change projects
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Degree or CIPD qualified with a strong commitment to CPD or significant relevant experience
