A new opportunity is now available for a HR Assistant to join an Aerospace and Defence company based in Luton

The Role:

Reporting to the Senior HR Advisor, this role will be a key point of contact for both Managers and employees and will be responsible for the provision of effective HR support to the HR Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Processing of new starter, changes and leaver paperwork
- Issuing letters and updating HR systems
- Recruitment administration
- Liaising with agencies, arranging interviews and issuing contracts
- Manage the onboarding of new permanent and contractor employees, including inductions, references and Right to Work checks
- Recording sickness and absence data, processing Return to Work information
- Managing internal HR databases
- SAP Success Factors
- Inputting, collating and reporting of HR data
- Supporting apprentice and young talent schemes including local schools network
- Conducting exit interviews and leaver documentation
- Coordinate arrangements for meetings and training, whilst maintaining employee and training files - Supporting internal audits and compliance checks
- Providing support to Senior HR Advisor and wider HR function
- Produce documents e.g. letters, presentations and spreadsheets utilising standard IT packages i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications CIPD/websites
- Any other reasonable duties
- Be compliant with the Company's Environmental, Health & Safety and Energy procedures


- Previous HR experience is essential
- Able to demonstrate initiative, prioritise and organise own work
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Good and clear communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent time management
- Professional and confidential
- Confidence with IT and other computer packages
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Individual must be trustworthy and reliable
- Accuracy and high attention to detail, demonstrable compliance or audit experience would be beneficial
- Demonstrable knowledge of GDPR regulations and other HR best practices
- Knowledge of apprenticeship schemes and apprenticeship levy would be desirable
- Previous experience within an HR and Manufacturing environment would be advantageous
