HR Advisor - Case Management Team
Location: Portsmouth
Duration: 4 Months
Hours: 37 per week
Pay rate: £25.11 per hour LTD


We have just received a new instruction from our client in Portsmouth for an experienced HR Case Advisor. This is a specialist role providing advice, guidance and support to Line Managers and other stakeholders engaged in managing a wide range of ER case work such as absence, disciplinary,grievance, capability and performance; typically more complex and sensitive ER cases with high risk to the business associated.

You will be responsible for coaching and supporting line managers, employees and representatives in a proactive manner to resolve cases effectively, and to attain consistency and compliance across the business. You will ensure that effective working relationships are created and maintained including Business HR and Trade Union / Employee representatives, Occupational Health etc. who interface with the Case Coaching Team.

You will also provide specialist advice and coaching to line managers to take greater accountability for managing complex and high-risk ER issues in a way that increases their knowledge, understanding and ability to manage ER cases effectively.

Please note there may be a requirement to travel other locations to support case meetings.


Skills and Experience

-ER discipline expertise including sound understanding on UK employment law
-Considerable on the job ER Case Management experience
-Exercises judgement to problem solve, understand and advise on a variety of high risk and complex employee relations matters
-Able to contributes to defining standards and specifications around which the team operates in the ER discipline
-Able to use own judgement to select appropriate solutions which can vary from defined options, plus evaluating options based on practice and precedence, and application of acquired technical expertise
-Developed communication and diplomacy skills
-Ability to persuade and influence, often senior stakeholders due to the nature of high risk and high complexity of cases
-Using and applying judgement (commercial and risk based)
-Ideally CIPD qualified
