ER Advisor/Case Coach
Govan - working from home during Covid
£20.00/hr PAYE plus hols
As an Employee Relations professional, you will provide coaching, advice and support to Line Managers on more complex and sensitive ER cases with high risk to the business associated all in scope UK businesses with our client BAE Systems based in Govan.
Your duties will include the following;
Establishes effective working relationships to ensure that relevant stakeholders are
engaged and informed at the appropriate stages in each case.
Works in partnership with other members of the UK Case Coaching Team and others to
deliver a timely, accurate and effective case work.
Through coaching and support assists line managers, employees and representatives in a
proactive manner to resolve cases effectively, and to attain consistency and compliance
across the business.
Provides balanced advice that is legally compliant & in line with company policy to
managers, and employees in order to manage risk.
Supports and manages cases in an accurate, timely fashion ensuring all cases are
updated regularly and records maintained appropriately (using the appropriate
Ensures effective working relationships are created and maintained including Business HR
and Trade Union / Employee representatives, Occupational Health etc. who interface
with the Case Coaching Team
Works with key stakeholder groups to continuously improve line leader capability by
challenging, influencing and supporting managers in a way that increases their
knowledge, understanding and ability to manage ER cases effectively
Provides challenge, support & contributes to changes and developments in technology
solutions, policy & process to ensure the continuous improvement of the efficiency of the
Contributes to identify and implement continuous improvement activity.
Is an advocate of the UK Case Coaching model champion the desired change in agreed
business areas and influence others to bring people along the change journey.

Functional Knowledge (Requirements for knowledge of functional work and
Knowledge of UK and businesses' policy & processes.
ER discipline expertise including sound understanding on UK employment law
What we are looking for from you;
Considerable on the job experience.
Ideally CIPD part or full qualified
Exercises judgment to problem solve, understand and advise on a variety of high risk and
complex employee relations matters.
Contributes to defining standards and specifications around which the team operates in
the ER discipline.
Sound understanding of how the team integrates in Case Coaching and within HR
Good understanding of how the team achieves UK objectives.
Business organisation understanding, knowledge and acumen for the business area in
support of e.g. local business policy, process, stakeholders.
Coach and mentor less experienced members of the team
Provides specialist advice and coaching to line managers to take greater accountability for
managing complex and high risk ER issues
Responsible for management and prioritisation of own workload with no support
Contributes to training new team members when required within their expertise
Problem Solving (Breadth of mental skills required in order to perform the job)
Uses own judgement to select appropriate solutions which can vary from defined options,
plus evaluating options based on practice and precedence, and application of acquired
Influencing decisions through advice or facilitating a service to others.
Has an input into the review and development of ER policy/procedure as part of the UK
Case Coaching team and learning from experience.
Restricted to area of expertise across UK businesses.

Ability to persuade and influence, often senior stakeholders due to the nature of high risk
