We are currently recruiting for Health & Safety Advisors for and Outage based at Dungeness B Power Station based in Kent.

Your role will consist of, but will not be restricted to the following:

Job Description
The Lead Safety Advisor/Safety Advisor will, report on a day to day basis to the Outage Manager, but on matters of the Company Safety Policy to OC HSE Officer and H+S Managers.
Advise and assist our Clients personnel to discharge their responsibilities to the highest standard of compliance with legal requirements.
Carry out active monitoring of documents, records, activities and work locations and report back to the Outage Manager,
Make frequent inspection of places of work and of physical operation of the safety, health and welfare facilities and report back to Outage management.
Maintain and inspect registers as required by current legislation.
Carry out whatever checks are deemed necessary to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Ensure the posting of all prescribed notices.
Liaise with the appropriate Government agencies and other enforcing authorities.
Advise Outage management on appropriate risk control measures and systems.
Advise about machine guarding, personal protective clothing and other preventive methods.
Investigate all unplanned events, help to determine the cause and to give recommendations to prevent their re-occurrence and to follow up any action decided upon.
Assist with training of new employees and to promote health, safety and environmental awareness.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of recommended codes of practice and new safety legislation.
Advise management on new health, safety and environmental legislation.
Assist in the identification of potential hazards on a site, and ensuring where possible the elimination of such hazards by taking into account the "principles of prevention".
Ensure that our Client and its subcontractors comply with the Site HSEW Plan.
Ensure that the Permit to Work system is adhered to, and full compliance is effected.
Carry out whatever checks are deemed necessary to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Serve Stop Work instructions if dissatisfied with health, safety, or environmental arrangements.
Review/endorse risk assessments as appropriate.
Attend and contribute to OC Tier 1 Management Assurance Meetings ( MAM )
Assist in carrying out environmental reviews and provide advice on environmental management programmes.
Familiarise himself with Company procedures
Produce a daily Site Diary/Report and submit this to the Outage Manager in a timely manner.
Liaise with the EDF Health and Safety Advisor and other contractors on matters of Health and Safety.

Candidate Specification
Candidates will hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent. Other qualifications considered on a case by case basis.
You will hold at least 2-3 years Site Safety experience within the Engineering field.

Duration: July/August 2018 until November 2018. Candidates must be flexible regarding the start and finish times.
Hours: 10/12 hour shifts - rotation 12on/2off.

Candidates will be required to hold a CCNSG Safety Passport and or IOSH Managing Safely (where applicable)
