Our client are one of the world's leading project development and construction groups and they are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to be based in Oxford

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide functional Health & Safety advice, guidance and coaching to Project Teams. The
position supports the Project Manager / Director in establishing and maintaining the highest Health and Safety
standards for the project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Advise, guide and coach all personnel on the project with the implementation of the Health & Safety
  • Management System (HSMS)
  • Responsible to the Project Manager / Director, advising on project compliance with the HSMS and statutory
  • Responsible to the Project Manager / Director for maintaining the Health & Safety competence matrix
  • Support the Project Manager / Director in the production, review and implementation of the Construction Phase
    Plan / Project Execution Plan
  • Communicate effectively (Accurate, Relevant and Timely) with their line manager, particularly with the escalation of accidents and incidents
  • Support the Project Manager / Director in the accident / incident investigations procedure and timely
    communication of the findings
  • Assist the project / Operating Unit (OU) with the accurate, relevant and timely reporting and recording of
  • Monitoring of the project, trade contractors, designers, suppliers and assisting the Procurement Team
  • Liaison with trade contractors, designers, suppliers, client, enforcement agencies and other relevant parties
  • Assist with the development, regular review and update of the HSMS
  • Support the business to win work. When directed complete Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) and tender
  • Contribute to the development of an Injury-Free Environment across
  • Support the business in building winning teams through promoting campaigns, attending and contributing to meetings etc

Technical Specification (Experience/Knowledge/Qualifications


Previous experience in relevant field of Construction / Facilities Health & Safety

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Affiliate / Associate grade membership of IOSH (for trainees)
  • Technician grade membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH) or above


  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Construction activities)
  • NEBOSH diploma
  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety
  • NVQ level 3 or above in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Working towards chartered membership of IOSH - CMIOSH
