POSITION SUMMARY
Manages and coordinates the companys human resources function activities for the region. Specifically, focussing on HR Operations. The business works in a matrix environment with centers of excellence supporting operations across recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits. HR Operations focusses on partnering the business, developing its culture ensuring its organisational design meets the needs of the growing business, and drives compliance through the employee relations area. This is the senior human resources position for the UK and Ireland and is governed by policies and frameworks established by the larger business.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Working within corporate strategies and policy frameworks, designs, proposes and implements human resources strategies, guidelines and procedures within broad principles and policies set by the organization to meet requirements supporting short and long-term business needs.
* Reinforces and localises guidelines and procedures which assist line management in implementing human resources policy, for example: employee training and development programs, salary structure, performance appraisal and recognition, and compensation and benefit plans below the senior management level.
* Ensures compliance of practices with UK and Ireland employment legislation and collective agreements. Provides advice to managers and ensures uniform interpretation of employment laws. Secures professional legal support from internal or external legal counsel as required.
* Assists in the articulation of the values and culture of the organization and proposes HR management activities which support the culture: Safety, Self Confidence, Speed, Simplicity and Inclusion culture.
* Works with managers to identify human resources issues/problems and provides leadership and support in finding solutions. Serves as a facilitator/mediator to resolve problems, difficulties and grievances which are presented by individual employees. May recommend appropriate measures such as training, reassignment, transfer or out-placement.
* Organises and supervises HR Operational services as well as ensuring centres of excellence deliver to the agreed standards for the region, to ensure that highly qualified professionals are recruited, developed and motivated to achieve business objectives.
* Manages and motivates HR Operational team reviews and assesses performance, builds capacity, supports their professional development and enables the team to optimise their contribution to the department.
* Ensures the centres of excellence are developing strategies and implementing those that will enhance the regional business performance. Working collaboratively to enhance performance of the overall function and if required holding them to account if delivery is below agreed levels.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Relevant current local employment law and discrimination law in local and international jurisdictions, plus proposed changes. Knows what the organisation needs to do to mitigate risk.
* Understands the role of legislation in progressing issues of diversity.
* The significance of the employee relations climate and culture in the organisation and its impact on employee motivation and performance.
* Creating and delivering employee relations plans, including communication and involvement mechanisms.
* The differentiating capabilities and skills that drive competitive advantage, and how these can be built, bought or developed
* Stages and phasing of project, programme and change management
* Understanding of all HR technical areas to be able to apply to the organisation - such as Organisational Design, Development, resource and talent planning, L&D, performance & reward, employee engagement, employee relations, service delivery and information
* Principles and approaches underpinning effective organisational cultural change
* How to develop business cases, costed options and set up systems for benefit tracking
* FCIPD or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE
* Role e.g. Head of HRBPs would be strong previous experience
* Experience of off-shoring activities and change management essential
* Negotiating with TU and owning the implementation of a TU strategy
