I am currently recruiting a Head of HR / HR Director for my heavily unionised Logistics Client in Cheshire. Well underway with the HR transformation, this role will be key to building longstanding relationships with Senior Directors and the Management population to align strategy, increase performance, understand commercial considerations, reduce costs and ultimately grow the business further.
With a key emphasis on change management and innovation and a high level of commercially will be needed in order to drive effective and strategic solutions.

Key accountabilities will include;


* Building effective relationships to enable integration into the senior management team in order to guide, challenge and influence around development and delivery of people plans
* Embedding yourself with the Senior Population in order to build knowledge, effect collaboration, design and develop HR initiatives in-line with the HR strategy
* Educating and coaching the management population, empowering them to have responsibility and capability for managing ER / IR issues and improve the effectiveness of consultation
* Equipping Managers with the appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage their people in line with their people plans e.g. performance management, absence management, career development
* Providing transformational advice on change management initiatives, organisational / departmental restructures / job role design / outsourcing / TUPE transfers / redundancy to align and meet business and commercial needs
* Contributing to the development of the wider HR strategy, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure cohesive and coordinated services


To be considered for the role you will have the following skills and experience;


* Extensive experience gained from heavily industrial relations environments
* Union experience is essential
* Preferred sector experience, Manufacturing or Transport
* Substantial operational and strategic HR experience
* Successfully dealing with complex ER issues, leading on staff consultations, leading and implementing strategy and operational plans
* Harmonisation of terms and conditions
* Leading on mergers and acquisitions
* Outstanding influencing and coaching skills and having the ability to think on your feet and propose solutions
