Manage design engineering teams to ensure delivery to programme
Ensure production of detailed active and passive design packs including detail of cable routes cable allocation, cabinet locations and fibre allocation, active equipment design and configuration details.
Provide guidance and support to designer engineers building relationships with key stakeholders.
Manage the resource levels within the team to ensure costs are within budget.
Ensure BOMs are produced and standardised where possible against design packs.
Escalate risks and issues that may affect delivery of HPC project or impact on Interfacing Organisations;
Ensure consistency in standards and processes across all projects
Report delays and changes to workstreams to ensure resource is accurately forecast
Provides information to enable the compilation of monthly performance and progress report for all workstreams around responsibility
Identify equipment forecast (inventory and non-inventory) to ensure continuity of supply
Identify designs that will enable the implementation of good nuclear safety and quality practices
Identify initiatives within the organisation to continually improve the operations performance, the quality of delivery, and our focus on nuclear safety and quality practices in the environment we work.
As part of the leadership team develop a culture based on nuclear safety and quality, acting as a role model for the internal team and all interfaces associated with the HPC project.
Responsible for managing a team of design engineers to deliver telecommunications solutions within a nuclear environment. This is a multi-disciplined role and will include the management and coordination of engineering teams undertaking the production of:
Production of CAD drawings
Proof of Concept Engineering
Manage resource levels to support production, review and timely delivery for the engineering of the project.
Liaise with design engineers to identify system requirements and ensure robust engineering processes are in place to deliver solutions against the agreed requirements
Ensure client requirements and regulatory standards are fully managed are understood and reflected in designs;
Ensure that all designs are produced in line with statutory compliance regulations and procedures and promote best practice and continuous improvement in nuclear safety and quality.
Monitor and audit to ensure "As-built" documentation is updated for all completed installations and is at the appropriate maturity level for the Health and Safety file.
Work with the Project Management teams to develop and manage the programme forecast and ensure the resource demands are met.
Ensure all documentation is issued to the delivery teams to ensure site documentation reflects accurate requirements;
Monitor review and improve processes to identify efficiencies within the delivery model and installation standards.
Provide technical support to the whole HPC team
Ensuring that all project Plant and Materials are identified and documented in the design and the CMDB
Ensure the design team provide support to the QS and engineering team in compilation of accurate Bill of Materials and costings for financial profiling.
Ensures accuracy and integrity of network related configuration data to support seamless handover to maintenance.
Identify areas for innovation and continuous improvement.
